Compare Solar Inverters, Batteries & Panels

Put two or more inverters, batteries or panels side by side, then confirm the voltage, current and protocol limits that decide whether the system works.

Comparing two products on wattage alone hides the limits that cause failures: battery voltage, charge current, PV window and communication protocol. Select the products below to see the specifications side by side.

What to check before you commit

  • Battery voltage and chemistry: a 48 V inverter needs a 48 V bank, and the BMS must speak the protocol the inverter expects.
  • Charge current: the inverter's maximum charge current must be within what the battery bank can accept.
  • PV limits: string voltage on a cold morning must stay under the inverter's maximum PV input voltage, and inside the MPPT window.
  • Surge rating: the largest motor start decides whether the inverter can carry the load, not the running watts alone.

Comparison questions

How do I compare two solar inverters?

Compare continuous output, surge rating, battery voltage, maximum PV voltage, MPPT count and maximum charge current. The inverter with the higher wattage is not automatically the better match for your battery and array.

How do I check inverter and battery compatibility?

Confirm the battery voltage matches the inverter's battery input, the charge current is within the battery's limit, and the battery BMS protocol (CAN or RS485) is supported by the inverter.

Are the specifications on this page verified?

Records are compiled for installer reference from manufacturer material. Confirm the exact model, revision and firmware with the manufacturer before specifying or installing.
